Airtel launches Wynk Tube, will also run in entry-level smartphone.
Wynk Tube - is a new app for Airtel which has been launched for music and video streaming. It supports PiP mode i.e. by switching the video to audio you can also use another app.
Indian telecom company Bharti Airtel has launched a new music streaming service, Wynk Tube. The company has targeted Tier 2, Tier 3 cities and rural areas from Wynk Tube. This app can also be used in entry level smartphones.
Bharti Airtel's CFO (Content and App) Sameer Batra said on the occasion of the launch, "There is a large population in rural areas including Tier-II and Tier-3 who wants to listen to music and watch videos. We have done the Wynk Tube developer so that we can reach 200 million users. These are for Airtel customers and non-airtel customers.
According to the company, this app has been made by Airtel's in-house team and has been fully prepared in India. The company has claimed that Wynk Music has 100 million users. According to the company, users under Wynk Tube can choose between video and audio. If the video is to listen to the audio only then the option to switch to this app will be given.
The Wynk Tube app currently offers video in three languages - Hindi, Bhojpuri and Punjabi. According to the company, there are 40 million songs and videos in the Wynk Tube. This app also supports Picture in Picture mode that means you can use this app even during multi-tasking. It has also been given the option of voice search. Please let us know that the same is done in the Whatsapp, under which YouTube videos can be played.
The Wynk Tube app will soon be available in 12 Indian languages. These include Regional Languages like Kannada, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil and Bhojpuri. Wynk can download App from Play Store and it is 5.9MB.
